Located in Bloomington, Indiana—the world’s limestone capital—Strata Commons (or your final name choice) reimagines the traditional library as a geological and cultural landmark. The design draws inspiration from Indiana’s iconic limestone formations, featuring a bold asymmetrical structure where glass volumes emerge from a textured limestone facade. Layered planes and organic voids reflect the natural processes of erosion and sedimentation, while generous light-filled spaces invite exploration and community gathering. Strata Commons stands as a modern tribute to the region’s geological heritage, shaping a new landscape for knowledge, discovery, and connection.
